A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT, Blair Morgan TO THE MEMBERS OF T&CGC:
2023-2025
Welcome to Town & Country Garden Club! These are exciting times for our club. Next September 2024, we will celebrate our 60th year! (Coincidentally I also turn 60 in September) All these years we have used our time and our talents to improve Durham and surrounding areas. We are proud of all our work to better the community we live in.
The list of projects is long and extensive. I can remember being a little girl and going with my Mama to water the plants in front of the “Welcome to Durham” sign located on I-85 that was erected by this club in 1970. Some of our most recent contributions include tree installation down Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Durham Central Park Edible Garden and the pollinator garden in Durham Central Park, just to name a few.
We are able to make these contributions by holding an auction each year and raising enough money to make sizable investments. Last year we pivoted to a Holiday Market Place and had great success. The market place followed by a luncheon for our members and guests was fun and festive. Looking forward to another event this year to be held on November 30th at Hope Valley Country Club. Mark your calendars!
Im looking forward to the next two years as your president. I think our time together learning, growing and doing will strengthen our friendships and deepen our commitment to the beautification and betterment of our environment. Our membership is strong and growing.Thank you for being a part of it.
Blair
