Town and Country Garden Club was formed in 1964 “to encourage interest in, and to promote the beautification and enhancement of our environment, promote the betterment of our community and make this commitment by way of membership participation through education, through projects and through financial support.”
Keeping Durham Beautiful
Over this past half century, our members strive to develop, support, expand and fund a wide variety of programs in a successful pursuit of this goal.
Our first fundraiser was in 1970 with a Christmas greenery sale. From that income of $630, we set off on our long lasting objective to keep Durham beautiful.
Active Community
With a full complement of fifty plus very active members, T&CGC is able to support a variety of community-wide programs including beautification projects, scholarships, garden therapy and education.
